//Listen Skateboards//
All LISTEN! decks are 7ply North American Hard Rock Maple pressed in the United States with American made skateboard specific glue and finishes. The L Point concave is moderate in nature which leads to better foot placement and control. Less concave in the mid section of the deck creates a natural and stable feeling skateboard. To create a quicker snap, the L Point concave offers a shortened spine which causes the nose and tail kicks to be more pronounced. Less flat space between the bolts and nose/tail creates a ridgid and longer lasting POP which, when combined with our skateboard specific FX glue, increases the strength of our boards.
It is a L Point concave pressed on MID shape - this shortens the space between the bolts and the curve of the tail and the nose. This makes for a steeper tail and nose yet keeps the mellow concave of the L Point. Listen mold has moderate concave with a short spine, meaning it has a very little flat space between the bolts and kick. Although the angle of the kicks is only moderate, the nose and tail are higher than the rest of the molds due to their early start. This contributes to more overall rigidity, and a tighter response
Letter from Shimrit -
For those of you who don’t know who I am, my name is Shimrit Swartzon and I have been privileged to work in the skate industry for over 8 years now. I began this journey with 411 Video Productions (issue #15) and left (issue #51) to join Elwood and Aesthetics as the Director of Operations.
During my journey I have seen something you don’t see very often among Corporate America. I have seen and felt the passion and love for a sport unlike any other. However, within the past two years I have also seen this industry turn a cold shoulder. I've seen people forget what this is all about. I've seen corporate companies come in and turn the industry’s beliefs and foundations into mud. I have witnessed how quickly money can make people forget why, they are truly here and why, they do what they do. I honestly feel that many have forgotten what skateboarding is about. A boy, a board, the pavement, building memories and lifelong friends.
The reason why I am sharing this with you is to explain why I have decided to start Listen Skateboards. We will bring back the passion, the love and most importantly the FUN to skateboarding.
We have hand picked only CORE customers to begin this journey with us. Why? Because I know it is you which keeps this industry going and this I have seen with my own eyes. I will make it a point to drive kids back into the core shops not away. I want kids to experience the true meaning of going to a skate shop.
We here at Listen Skateboards will ensure the faith that there is a company out there which truly cares about you, your customers and your future.
I hope this letter has expressed the depth and passion I have for skateboarding and the skateboarding industry and why Listen Skateboards is more than just another skateboard company. We hope you LISTEN to your heart and help us bring back the fun in skateboarding.

Featured Product: Dogtown 1977
Dogtown As a concept has existed since the early 1970's. It was the birthplace of progressive skateboarding, Santa Monica/Venice, California. In the celebrated documentary Dogtown and Z-Boys, Venice was a forgotten slum by the sea. Out of the wreckage of Abbot Kinney's dream town gone bad, roamed young surfers searching for outlets after the surf got blown out. They found it through an aggressive approach to skateboarding never seen before. Jim Muir, the founder of Dogtown Skateboards, was one of these kids. For nearly 30 years Dogtown Skateboards has been synonymous with hardcore skateboarding and has a hardcore loyal following.

From a garage in college I made my first longboard deck. It was flat; no dedicated tip or tail, just birch ply, a bucket of stain and sealer, and a desire to make something original. I wasn't impressed by the boards that had that cookie-cutter look to them; I wanted a board that was more than grip tape and a heat transfer. And while the first deck that I made was nothing to brag about, it was still a start. After working in the real world for a while I realized that more fun could be had working in an industry that had no dress codes, and where the product testing grounds were the city streets and sidewalks. Eight years passed from the time our first deck hit the city street. Several jobs came and went too, and in 2005 GFhurley/GFH Boards came back. We have come a long way since the original shape, but the idea is still the same: Make a board that will truly turn heads. We use exotic woods and try to incorporate the sidewalk-surfer way of life into each of our boards. When we started, we made the traditional longboard-shaped deck, but we kept thinking about the rebirth of the mini boards. The idea that any piece of scrap could be made into an instant blank board was something that needed to be revisisted. The first mini I made was for a friend back in 1999. We are always looking at the past and the future, so be on the lookout for what is coming up next
